ADA stands for Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Standards for Accessible Design. The ADA standards apply to commercial and public entities that have “places of public accommodation” including the internet.
This law may affect your business. As a website owner, to prevent claims, and to be proactive, have your website compliant with WCAG 2.0 A/AA standards.
There are 2 basis steps in order to have your current website to become compliant:
1) Review the document and requirements for ADA compliance and evaluate your website. There are several free third parties web accessibility online platforms that could review your website and that will report all possible errors.
2) Solve all errors that are identified. Some errors, you may be able to fix them directly using your website administration account; and, others errors will require some web developer experience.
It is important to note that as you manage your website’s scripts, pages, and web content, it is highly recommended to review your website after performing such website updates for ADA compliance.
